The aim of MAOMM is to publish a sheet full of thoughts every morning for the benefit of our contemporaries, and to contribute to the reformation and intellectual revival of the society in which we live.
Much like the pioneering journals and pamphlets initiated by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan in the late 19th century such as Tehzeeb-ul-Akhlaq (est. 1870), which aimed to enlighten the Indian Muslim society through reason, reform, and moral education. 

MAOMM envisions itself as the modern torchbearer of that legacy. Our establishment in 1875 symbolically aligns with the foundation of the Mohammadan Anglo-Oriental College, the birthplace of rational discourse, educational awakening, and cultural reform in India.
Undoubtedly, Sir Syed's publications transformed the cultural fabric of Indian Muslims and instilled in them a sense of refined character and progressive thought.

MAOMM endeavors to eradicate conservatism rooted in blind imitation, and to promote a vibrant, enlightened atmosphere one that encourages scientific temper, social reform, and democratic spirit. Like Tehzeeb-ul-Akhlaq, which advocated for women's education, rational ethics, and religious tolerance, we too commit ourselves to fighting the prevailing social evils and supporting the upliftment of all marginalized voices.
Just as Tatler and Spectator in 18th-century England gained popularity by serving the moral and intellectual needs of the society, we believe that MAOMM can do the same for modern India, especially from the historic and intellectual soil of Aligarh.
